Team KiPOW Volunteer Recruitment:Team KiPOW is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in health education and working with kids to help lead weekly health education sessions to 5th grade students at Scholarship Prep in Santa Ana. If you would like to help teach 5th graders about the importance of nutrition and exercise, Team KiPOW would love to have you join the team! We are planning to begin our session during October, and we will be holding 20 sessions overall! The sessions will be on Fridays from 9:10-11:00 AM at Scholarship Prep. Our first session will be on October 24th. If you are interested, please read below to learn about this wonderful opportunity to help fight childhood obesity!
Basics of Team KiPOW: Team KiPOW is a CHOC/UCI School of Medicine organization consisting of CHOC resident physicians, UC Irvine medical students, and local volunteers committed to fighting childhood obesity in Orange County! Team KiPOW visits OC elementary schools on a weekly basis to teach a health lesson to 5th grade students and eat lunch and exercise with them so that the students could mirror what the health mentors do. How you can join: 1) Submit a Team KiPOW Volunteer Application:https://forms.gle/5jMTWDfgpC3En22M7 2) Submit the Volunteer Contract for 2025-2026. This will be sent to you after we have received your application. 3) Attend a mandatory training session on 10/11 or 10/19 (RSVP: https://forms.gle/VawTTy7ZJaz4Bhwa7) 4) Sign up for KiPOW shifts!
