Senior Researcher for Multilingual and English Learner Education (Bilingual Encouraged) (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Researcher for Multilingual and English Learner Education. This position is designated as full remote. The successful candidate will be able to work full remote through June 30, 2023, if funding is extended, the location designation may be subject to change. Travel to Oregon may be required when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Please visit the state’s Work Reimagined website for more information.

The primary purpose of this position is to support ODE and partners throughout the state to leverage data, research, and evidence to support improvement of educational opportunities and to advance equitable outcomes for Oregon’s multilingual English Learner students.

Typical Duties Include: 
  • Design rigorous analyses in support of multilingual / English Learner education program reporting requirements and mixed methods applied research and evaluation projects
  • Plan and manage complex analytical or statistical research projects focused on program reporting requirements
  • Develop, plan, and execute data collections and related state and federal reports pertaining to multilingual education program reporting requirements, including data ownership and project management
  • Confer with policy makers, members of the Multilingual and Migrant Education Team, executive level management, education and community partners, business groups, legislative bodies, associations, unions, news media, and state and local officials regarding current data, trends, projections, or impact of existing or proposed studies pertaining to multilingual / English Learner education program reporting requirements
