TA AssignmentsTeaching Assistantships and Readerships are offered by the School of Education for 25% or 50% employment. Benefits for TAs and Readers include full remission of tuition, student services fees, and payment of Graduate Student Health Insurance Program fees, participation in the UC Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) for Retirement, and a monthly paycheck commensurate with the percentage of employment. Student is responsible for paying campus-based fees.
For information about UCI Tuition and Fees, please refer to the UCI Registrar's website All graduate students, except those who have earned an undergraduate degree from an institution at which English was the sole language of instruction according to the World Higher Education Database, are required to demonstrate oral English proficiency before they are appointed to Teaching Assistant or Teaching Associate titles. The Ph.D. Program Director will remind doctoral students and faculty when the forms are available. It is important to note that preferences are not guaranteed.
