New MAT Graduate Student Checklist 2017-2018

April, 2017

• Submit fee application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • MAT students need to file 2016-2017 FAFSA for Summer 2017 Financial Aid and 2017-2018 FAFSA for receiving Financial Aid for    Fall 2017 through Summer 2018. 
• ​Summer 2017 schedule emailed to students by 4/28
• Coordinators begin conferencing with students about school placements
• Complete On-campus Housing Application by 5/1 (optional)
• Find off campus housing (optional)​

• Check the website for Multiple Subject Credential Candidates and Single Subject Credential Candidates
• Complete your Statement of Legal Residence (SLR)
• Enroll in summer courses through Summer Session 5/1-6/4
  • Summer enrollment is done in person, by mail, or via fax.
• Apply for summer financial aid (Summer Aid Application).  Mail or fax the paper summer aid application to the financial aid office (Address listed on the top of the form or FAX #:  (949) 824-4876). • Request Health Insurance Waiver if eligible 5/1-6/4

• June 6: Final deadline to submit CBEST and CSET official PDF score reports to [email protected]
  • Electronic scores are not accepted.
• June 23: Attend MAT orientation from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Orientation information will be e-mailed by May 1
• June 26: Summer Session 1 begins
• Purchase UCI parking permit
• Obtain your UCI student ID card which is needed for UCI services

• Fall 2017 schedule e-mailed to students by July 31, 2017
  • E-mailed schedule will include additional details not available on WebSOC (Web Schedule Of Classes).
•  Enroll in courses through WebReg
• August 7: Summer Session 2 begins
• August 14-September 6: Fieldwork begins depending on your placement
• Clear Provisional Admission by providing official degree-posted transcripts from your university
  • Degree-posted transcripts should be mailed directly to the Education Student Affairs Office, Education Building Suite 2000, Irvine, CA 92697-5500
•  Waive Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan (GSHIP) if you have comparable health insurance by September 9th

• September 9: last day to waive Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan (GSHIP) if you have comparable health insurance
• September 15: Deadline to pay Fall tuition through your ZotAccount, in person, or through mail
  • Tuition must be paid on or before the fee payment deadline to avoid being dropped from courses.  Quarterly deadlines can be found on the Registrar's Website
