Lead Peer Academic Advisor Hello! My name is Jacinda, a fourth-year Education Sciences and Chinese Studies major with a Management minor. I am a first-generation college student from San Francisco. On campus, I am a Discussion Leader for the UNI STU 1 course and an ambassador for the Student Achievement Guided by Experience (SAGE) Scholars Program, serving on the Digital Media Management. Melana Ros
Peer Academic Advisor Hello Everyone, my name is Melana Ros! I am a fourth-year Education Sciences major and Criminology, Law, & Society minor. I am a first-generation Cambodian-American student from my beautiful hometown of Long Beach, California! I am super excited to be a Peer Academic Advisor for the School of Education this year and to have the opportunity to work with and get to know my fellow classmates. Here at UCI, I am also involved with student housing, serving as a Community Assistant for Plaza Verde. My free time usually consists of attending hot pilates/lagree classes, growing my food blog, volunteering at a hometown elementary school, and spending time with my family and friends. Frank Zhang
Peer Academic Advisor Hello!! My name is Ziyue Zhang but feel free to call me Frank. I am a third-year Education Sciences and History major. I am not a First-generation student but I’m the first in my family to be studying abroad from China. At UCI, I am a part of Telos, working as a student editor for the magazine. I am also volunteering in different schools including University High School and one in Shijiazhuang, which is my hometown. In my spare time, you will see me playing sports like soccer and tennis, listening to music, cooking and finding the best matcha/coffee in the area. I might also be planning an annual summer camp(This will get me very busy towards the end of the school year). Kate Pearson
Career Ambassador Hi Everyone! My name is Kate Pearson and I am a second-year Education Sciences major with a Psychology minor, on an accelerated track. I am originally from San Diego, CA. I am so excited to be a Career Ambassador this year, sharing valuable career-related resources and services to students throughout the School of Education! I am looking forward to supporting students with resumes, job and research opportunities, along with general career planning as they navigate their time at UCI! Beyond this role, I am a Research Assistant in the Digital Learning Lab and a Peer Mentor for the School of Education! In my free time, you can find me baking a variety of cookies & breads.
